ALICIA LIGGINSAlicia Liggins is a visionary entrepreneur, community advocate, and creative spirit with a deep commitment to making a lasting impact. Born in Columbus, Ohio, raised in Orlando, Florida, and now thriving in Sequim, Washington, she serves as the CEO of H.UM.A.N, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve happiness and success. Alongside her husband and high school sweetheart, Darrin Liggins, Alicia also co-owns Liggins Landscaping, seamlessly blending business and family.
With more than a decade of experience in education, Alicia has also made her mark as a muralist and explored the real estate industry. Driven by a passion for art, work-life balance, and community well- being, she is committed to creating family-friendly, screen-free entertainment spaces. Alicia works closely with local businesses to foster collaboration, success, and happiness within the community. Outside of her professional endeavors, Alicia enjoys painting, relaxing with her three dogs, and cheering on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Over the next ten years, she plans to continue to lead H.U.M.A.N, launch multiple businesses, form impactful partnerships, and bring her vision of balanced, fulfilling living to life. |
DARRIN LIGGINSDarrin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Ohio, where he developed a strong passion for leadership and teamwork through his years of playing football. Today, he channels that same drive into his work as the co-owner of Liggins Landscaping, which he runs alongside his wife, Alicia. Together, they provide exceptional landscaping services while strengthening ties to the community. In addition to his landscaping work, Darrin plays an active role in local development as the Membership Director for the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, where he works to foster growth and collaboration within the community. Having raised his three youngest sons in Sequim, Washington,
Darrin is deeply appreciative for the support his family has received and believes in the importance of giving back. For more than a decade, Darrin has dreamed of creating H.U.M.A.N., a nonprofit organization with a mission to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the community. Now that his vision has become a reality, he is fully committed to advancing its mission and continuing to foster positive change. |
CARTER HOLMCarter Holm’s journey is a testament to perseverance, growth, and unwavering determination. From his early days pushing carts at Walmart to establishing a successful career in landscaping, Carter has continuously worked hard to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. For the past three and a half years, he has been a dedicated member of the Liggins Landscaping team, where his experiences have helped shape him both personally and professionally. The hurdles he’s faced have only
strengthened his resolve, while the skills he’s developed have equipped him for even greater achievements ahead. A natural leader, Carter believes leadership is about more than just guiding others—it’s about setting a strong example, working diligently, and uplifting those around him. His commitment to inspiring his team and helping them grow reflects his deep belief in the power of collaboration and mutual support. Outside of work, Carter has a deep passion for trucks. From studying their mechanics to appreciating their design, trucks are a continual source of interest and inspiration. Carter’s long-term vision is to achieve financial independence, not only to secure his own future but to empower others to reach their fullest potential. To him, success is not just about personal accomplishments, it’s about making a positive, lasting impact in the lives of those who need guidance and encouragement. As he continues to grow as a leader and professional, Carter remains committed to hard work, personal development, and helping others carve their own path to success. |
JHON ARGERSINGERJhon Argesinger was born in the Caribbean and spent his formative yearns in Long Island, New York. He attended Hofstra University and the University of Phoenix, where he focused his studies on Finance, Banking, Technology Project Management, and Computer Programming. With over 16 years of experience in both banking and retail pharmacies, Jhon has developed a strong background in finance and operations.
After relocating to Sequim in 2008, Jhon pursued further education to become a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. He is currently training to become an Emergency Management Technician (EMT) and a Certified Medical Translator, reflecting his continued commitment to serving others in the healthcare field. Jhon lives with his spouse and their two wonderful, adopted children. He joined the board of H.U.M.A.N with a deep commitment to supporting his community and its diverse members, aiming to provide tangible resources and opportunities to improve lives. |
MARY DANIELOriginally from Virginia, Mary Daniel is a Californian at heart after spending decades raising two children in an Eastern Sierra mountain community. She now enjoys a fulfilling life on Washington's scenic Olympic Peninsula. With a graduate degree in Business, Mary has built a distinguished career in nonprofit leadership, holding both Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer roles. Throughout her career, she has worked with organizations that make a lasting impact. Mary partnered with the National Park Service to support preservation efforts at Manzanar National Historic Site, a former Japanese American internment camp. She also led the financial team at a prominent nonprofit healthcare facility managed by a Native American tribal consortium. Additionally, Mary served as a key administrator for a university-led radio astronomy observatory, helping to advance scientific research. After retiring, Mary became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, a holistic health coach, where she now helps clients implement personalized plans to meet their unique health and wellness goals. Mary is deeply committed to volunteer work, and her involvement with H.U.M.A.N aligns perfectly with her values and expertise. She believes strongly in the organization’s mission to uplift the lives of
residents in the local community and is proud to contribute to its impactful work. |
ANGELA ESTESAngela Estes, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, spent three decades living in Toronto, Philadelphia, and Columbus before returning to her hometown. She built a successful career in the corporate world, specializing in HR and benefits, before retiring. Now, Angela divides her time between traveling and running a small business that sells gourmet popsicles. Driven by a passion for helping others and creating a positive impact, Angela was drawn to serve on the Board of Directors for H.U.M.A.N. The organization's mission to empower individuals to help themselves
and others strongly aligns with her personal values and goals. |
JENN EVENSONAs a proud Christian mother of three, Jennifer Evenson is deeply rooted in the Sequim community and the Pacific Northwest, where she was born and raised. She and her family love exploring the natural beauty of their area, whether it’s hiking mountain trails, visiting local beaches, or enjoying the peaceful rivers. Professionally, Jenn serves as Vice President at Business Health Trust, a Washington-based health insurance company. In this role, she is dedicated to supporting small to mid-size businesses, helping them grow, and providing valuable resources along the way.
Her passion extends beyond her career; her family, friends, faith, and community are at the heart of everything she does. Jenn believes strongly in giving back, and she is committed to teaching her children the importance of serving others and fostering a love for community. As a busy mom and full-time professional, Jenn is mindful of how she spends her time and prioritizes where she can make the most impact. When she learned about the mission of H.U.M.A.N, she felt a strong call to serve on the Board of Directors. The organization's leadership exudes a genuine passion for giving back and uplifting others.
